CyprusJob Opportunities Directory - Previous Article - Next ArticleFrom: "HR-Net News Distribution Manager" <dist@hri.org>Originally From: Bernard Musyck (Niovi Santama) <musyck@cytanet.com.cy> ANNOUNCEMENT OF ACADEMIC POSITIONS The University of Cyprus announces two academic positions at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor: DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES Two positions at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor in the following fields of study: Âioinformatics (Data mining, Molecular Modeling, Rational Drug Design, Phylogenetics) Biochemistry (Microbiology, Immunobiology, Enzymology, Protein Chemistry) For all academic ranks, an earned doctorate from a recognized University is required. Requirements for each academic rank depend on the candidate /s years of academic experience, the research record and scientific contributions, involvement in teaching and in the development of high quality undergraduate and graduate curricula. The minimum requirements for each academic rank can be found in http://www.ucy.ac.cy/admin servG/nomothesiaG/accqualG/acc_qualg.htmlThe official languages of the University are Greek and/or Turkish. Holding a citizenship of the Republic of Cyprus is not a requirement. The annual gross salary for these positions (including the 13th salary) is: Assistant Professor (Scale Á13-Á14) CY 26.363 - CY 37.994 Lecturer (Scale Á12-Á13) CY 22.264 - CY 34.690(At present 1 Euro = 0.5841 CYP and 1 Dollar = 0.4839 CYP). Interested individuals must submit the following items by Monday 27th September 2004: I A letter stating the academic rank or ranks for which the applicant is interested in, the field of study and the date when he/she may be able to assume duties in the event of selection. II A Curriculum Vitae (6 copies). III A brief summary of previous work and a statement of plans for future research (up to 1500 words - 6 copies). IV A list of publications (6 copies). V Copies of the three most representative publications (6 copies). VI Copies of degree certificates. In addition, the applicants must ask three academic referees to send letters of recommendation directly to the University the names and addresses of these referees must be submitted with the application. Additional confidential information may be sought. The letters of recommendation must be sent to the University of Cyprus by Monday 27th September 2004. The Curriculum Vitae and the statement of previous work and plans should be written in Greek and/or in Turkish and in one international language, preferably English. Applications, other documents and reference letters submitted in the past will not be considered and must be re-submitted. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
