CAMKIN (Calcium/calmodulin regulated kinases) is a European Research Training Network HPRN-CT-2002-00252 (2002-2006)) in collaboration with EMBL-Hamburg, Germany (Matthias Wilmanns, coordinator), Laboratory of Molecular Biophysics-Oxford, UK (Louise Johnson), King's College-London, UK (Mathias Gautel), Weizmann Institute of Science-Rehovot, Israel (Adi Kimchi), NHRF-Athens, Greece (Nikos Oikonomakos) and Institute of Medical Technology-Tampere, Finland (Mauno Vihinen).

The projects will involve all aspects of modern structural biology from protein expression to structure determination. The candidate will initially work on the preparation, kinetic and inhibitor binding studies with PhK holoenzyme, gamma-catalytic subunit (truncated form) but also on crystallisation and structural studies and expand on other calcium/calmodulin regulated protein kinases of the subfamily.
