A postdoctoral position under the Marie Curie Development Host Fellowships programme is available at the Laboratory of Animal Physiology, School of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. The selected scientist will join an active research group working on intracellular signalling pathways in the heart. The project involves the investigation of the molecular control of cardiac myocyte apoptosis with special emphasis on the regulation of the Bcl-2 family proteins. The position is available immediately for a maximum of 2 years. A variety of cellular and molecular backgrounds would be relevant for this study which will include culture of cells, FACS analysis, immunocytochemistry as well as other standard biochemistry and molecular biology procedures. Previous experience in cardiovascular physiology is not necessary but will be appreciated. Salary will be in accordance with the Marie Curie Fellowships guidelines (3100 euros/month). Applicants should be nationals of a European Community state or an associated state, less than 35 years old and should not be nationals of Greece.
