WELLCOME TRUST RESEARCH POSITIONS

Strongly motivated individuals are invited to join Dr Anthony Gavalas in studying how master regulatory genes of the Hox class influence cell fate decisions in the hindbrain neuroepithelium. The experimental approaches combine stem cell technology and functional genomics with molecular embryology in both mouse and chick. The goals are to develop ways to direct embryonic stem cell neuronal differentiation in vitro and identify Hox target genes in the neuroepithelium. Funding is provided by the Wellcome Trust for up to four years for a Graduate Student and Research Technician at an annual starting rate of up to £19,500. Previous experience in molecular biology or molecular embryology will be an advantage.

The laboratory is located in the MRC Centre for Developmental Neurobiology. The Centre provides an exciting and stimulating research environment and excellent state of the art facilities. It encompasses more than 20 research groups all concentrating on studying the early steps in nervous system development using a wide range of model organisms and experimental approaches. The Centre is conveniently located in Central London close to transportation links and sites of major cultural events.

Interested candidates should send their CV and two letters of recommendation to:
