The candidates will have the opportunity to work on the 3-year international project alongside with teams from well-known research institutes, such as the NASA Joint Center for Earth Systems Technology (USA), CNES (France), Space Research Institute of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Cadastre of Denmark (KMS), Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH-Zurich), etc. Coordinator of the project is the Laboratory of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering. Post-Doc Research Scientist The Laboratory of Geodesy & Geomatics Engineering has an immediate opening for a Post-doctoral researcher in applied GPS (Global Positioning System) geodetic techniques. The candidate will work out of TUC on the international project for the Establishment of a European radar altimeter calibration and sea-level monitoring site for Jason, ENVISAT and EURO-GLOSS on Gavdos, Crete. The applicant must have: · a Ph.D. degree, preferably with experience on satellite geodesy,sea-level change, GPS data processing and quality control of GPS measurements, satellite navigation, · Programming proficiency in Fortran, C, C++ with Unix platforms · Fluency in English · Proposal writing skills · Experience with satellite processing software (i.e., Teqc, Geodyn, GIPSY, GAMIT, Bernese, etc.) is an asset. Salary will be according to qualifications and experience. Researcher/Engineer/Technician The Laboratory of Geodesy & Geomatics Engineering has an immediate opening for a researcher/engineer/technician in GPS techniques with experience in development and application of precise positioning software, GPS precise orbit determination, and/or ambiguity resolution techniques. The applicant must have: · An engineering degree and/or post-graduate degree. · Programming skills in Unix, C, C++, and FORTRAN, Web publishing is required. · Fluency in English is required. Salary will be according to qualifications and experience. This position may lead to a PhD degree.
