POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH POSITION

The Artificial Intelligence and Information Analysis (AIIA) Laboratory at the Department of Informatics of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, is seeking for candidates of European Union Member State and Associated State nationality (excepting Greek nationals) to immediately fill the following vacant research position:

* Postdoctoral researcher(s) for a total appointment period of 32 months starting the soonest possible.

The applicants are required to prove their research experience in the following topic(s):

* Still image analysis and segmentation * Video parsing, segmentation and representation * Mixed media analysis (image-audio-visual)

Very good knowledge of English is highly desirable.

The positions are financed by a European Union Research and Training Network (RTN) project dealing with the field of multimedia information retrieval, called "Models for Unified Multimedia Information Retrieval (MOUMIR)".

The minimal appointment period is one (1) year. Associated States at the date of this posting are: Bulgaria, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Israel. According to the EU Project regulations, the applicants should not further have resided in Greece for a period of more than 12 months, preceding this posting. They should also be of 35 years of age or younger. An additional year of age is allowed for army service or children.
