Position for PhD Student, in Molecular & Cellular Physiology:

at the Max Delbrueck Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) in Berlin, Germany.

"Ca2+ dependent signal transduction in smooth muscle - the CaM kinase switch"

We investigate the molecular basis of smooth muscle contractility, using a combination of biochemical, molecular- cell biological and physiological approaches. Cell culture, muscle fibers and trangenic animals are used for the investigation (NATURE-CELL BIOLOGY, in press)

The candidate should be a graduate in Biology or Medicine with strong research experience (through MS thesis/diploma thesis work etc.) Very good knowledge of English is required ; Full support is provided - for the whole duration of the dissertation ie. usually 1-2 years for medical graduates and 3-4 years for science graduates. salary is depending on experience/qualifications.
