CAREER POSITION OPEN AT AHI LEGISLATIVE/ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) is seeking a full time Legislative/Administrative Assistant. This position is suitable for a mature, bright and responsible individual who is willing to learn quickly and become a vital tool in our organization. AHI is a 501(c)(6) non profit tax-except public policy trade association which provides an organization and program for strengthening relations between the United States and Greece and Cyprus, and within the American Hellenic community.

This entry-level position is suitable for a recent college graduate with an interest in political science or a person returning to work with a background in administrative, computer, and organizational skills. The applicant will provide general legislative and administrative support to the Executive Director. Duties would include monitoring U.S. legislation towards Greece, Turkey and Cyprus, draft press releases, testimony and newsletter and access the Internet and AHI web pages. Responsibilities will also include word processing, correspondence and membership services. The position offers an opportunity to make important contacts as well as gain a first hand experience of the operations of an established and respected institution. Applicants must have good oral and written communications skills. Experience with computer operations and software is essential including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft ACCESS.
