The General Secretariat of Research and Technology in Greece has announced the implementation of a program specifically designed fot greek speaking scientists around the world. It calls for scientists recently graduated from institutions abroad (or established researchers with at least two years of postdoctoral experience) to join research institutions, groups, academic departments of greek Universities, etc. and by conducting research there will transfer know-how and experience to local scientists. That way they are given the opportunity to provide technical knowledge to Universities in Greece. The Program lasts for three years and the greek speaking scientist will also be provided with a graduate student for the implementation of his/her research project(s). Each program hovers around 40-50 million greek drachmas for the duration of three years.

The Inorganic and Biological division of the Department of Chemistry of the University of Crete in Heraklion solicits expressions of interest from individuals willing to participate in this program (The program pays for their salary as well as that of the prospective graduate student). This announcement also calls for expression of interest on behalf of both new and established researchers in the areas of Inorganic, Bioinorganic, Organometallic, Inorganic materials, Biological Inorganic and related areas.

Due to the time constraints imposed by the deadline of the call (11/28/97), prompt response to the herein announcement will be greatly appreciated. For expressions of Interest, please, contact Prof. Salifoglou and Coutsolelos at the E-mail address:
