DIRECTORSHIP THEORETICAL AND PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY INSTITUTE ATHENS, GREECE

The National Hellenic Research Foundation is soliciting applications for the position of Director of the Theoretical and Physical Chemistry Institute.

The applicants are expected to be senior scientists with qualifications equivalent to the qualifications of a full professor. Their field of research must be closely related to one of the existing fields of research at the insti- tute (structure and properties of atoms, molecules and solids by theoretical and/or experimental spectroscopic methods; new materials). They are also ex- pected to have adequate administrative experience, and they must be under 63 years of age on the date of their appointment.

The director of the institute is elected by a five member committee and formally appointed for a period of five years by the Minister of Development. At the discretion of the Minister, the appointment may be extended for another five years. Upon expiration of the appointment, the position opens and new applications are solicited including the application of the current director. If not reelected, the current appointee is free to remain permanently at the institute as a senior researcher (full professor equivalent).
