New Hellenic channel on IRC

General Announcements Directory - Previous Article - Next Article

From: "HR-Net News Distribution Manager" <dist@hri.org>

Originally From: MARIOS CHINAS <marioscc@spidernet.com.cy>

I have found that on the IRC there is no channel for Hellenes abroad to go communicate with each other. There are #Greece and #Hellas channels on all IRC servers (dealnet, undernet, webmaster, etc) but they are mostly used by teenagers that swear to each other in greek...

I have therefore created a #hellenes channel on dalnet - if you wish this channel to be used please inform through your lists all Greeks abroad of this channel. If you do not, just simply do nothing and the channel will be deleted automatically if it is not used for 20 days...

Furthermore, if people are interested in becoming oped (operator status in the channel), then please send me their nicknames AFTER they register them in dalnet. For registering nicknames in dalnet, enter dalnet in irc and write:
/msg nickserv help register
or visit the dalnet page at http://www.dal.net/.
