AHIF to Host Major Conference on

U.S. Relations with Greece in the Twentieth Century

The American Hellenic Institute Foundation (AHIF) invites you to a conference on "United States Relations with Greece in the Twentieth Century" in Washington, D.C. Professor Van Coufoudakis, Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, Indiana University-Purdue University, will chair the conference and will head a list of outstanding speakers.

The luncheon speaker is world-renowned historian Professor William McNeill. He will receive the American Hellenic Institute Lifetime Achievement Award. The conference sets the stage for U.S.-Greece relations in the New Millenium and provides background on current policy issues for the Bush Administration. Conference topics to include political, economic, military/strategic, immigration and cultural matters.

SPEAKERS: Peter Bien, Professor of English, Dartmouth College; Harry Psomiades, Professor of Political Science and Director of the Center for Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies, Queens College, NY; Van Coufoudakis, Professor and Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, Indiana University-Purdue University; John O. Iatrides, Professor of International Politics, Southern Connecticut State University; S. Victor Papacosma, Professor of History and Director of the Lemnitzer Center for NATO and European Union Studies, Kent State University, Ohio; James E. Miller, Professor of History, Johns Hopkins University; Eugene T. Rossides, President, AHIF; and Monteagle Stearns, former U.S. Ambassador to Greece. Luncheon keynote speaker is William T. McNeill, Professor Emeritus of History, University of Chicago.
