I am very pleased to inform you that the Hellenic Society Paideia of Virginia is hosting a fund raising dinner-lecture on November 13th at Sts Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Richmond. At this dinner, DR Timothy S. Miller, Professor of history at Salisbury State College, will be making a very interesting presentation on "Philanthropy and the Care of Orphans in the Byzantine Empire." Proceeds from this event will fund a grant to support the publication of his book with the same title.

DR Miller is an eminent scholar of Byzantine history and author of another book entitled "The birth of the hospital in the Byzantine Empire."

Aristides Sismanis, MD, President, Hellenic Society Paideia of Virginia
