Sunday, 22 November, Astoria, NY: Grigoris Maninakis will give a song
recital on Sunday 22 November, 3 PM, at the Hiotiko Spiti, 44-01 Broadway,
Astoria, NY. The program titled "From Erotokritos to Axion Esti" consists of
poems by Kornaros, Fereos, Varnalis, Gatsos, Seferis, Ritsos, and Elytis,
set to music by Hatzidakis, Theodorakis, Xarhakos, and Leontis. Among the
recordings by Maninakis is the Kafe Aman Amerika. The recital is sponsored
by the Pan-Lemnian Association "Hephaestus" (http://www.hri.org/lemnian/ ).
