"The Expo is named after Hermes, the Greek God of Commerce and Science," said Paul Kotrotsios who is the Expo founder and the publisher of the Hellenic News of America. "it serves as a bridge for trade and culture in the Greek and American community and has become one of the nation's largest organized Greek trade shows and cultural events, Open to the business community and general public, the Expo is a rare opportunity for buyers in all facets of the retail trades to learn about and buy Greek and Eastern European products and services direct from manufacturers that serve industries including fashion, restaurants, entertainment, travel and jewelry as well as business services, construction, finance, communications and more. The Expo will feature over 150 exhibits including business seminars explaining Greek import-export issues, a networking brunch, an award presentation dinner, and a fashion show hosted by Plaza furs along with prizes including a $10,000 Plaza fur coat, airline tickets to Greece from Olympic Airways, and two cruises donated by Attkinson Travel. New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman said, "By spotlighting the rich diversity of products and services that Hellenic-American businesses make available to all of us, Hermes Expo contributes to the vibrancy of New Jersey's economy and helps to underscore the energetic involvement of the Greek American community in Garden State life."
