The 2nd annual Research Symposium of the New England Hellenic Medical and Dental Society is less than one week away !

It will take place on Saturday, 9/16/2000, 9 am to 1 pm at the Maliotis Center, Holy Cross Hellenic College - Holy Cross School of Theology, Brookline MA.

The symposium will be both a scientific and a social event, and we hope will strengthen communication and scientific interaction between members of the Greek/Greek-American biomedical community. Students and trainees in medicine, dentistry, pharmacology, psychology, bioengineering, biological, biochemical and other related sciences, are encouraged to present past or current research work in poster format at a casual setting that will facilitate networking amongst us. A small number of poster presentations will be selected to receive monetary prizes ($150 each).

This year we are very fortunate to have 3 distinguished speakers that will discuss issues related to biomedical research (alphabetically listed): Eleni Gagari, DDS, PhD (Dental School, Tufts University) Haralambos Pothoulakis, MD (Harvard Medical School) Vassilios Zannis, PhD (Boston University School of Medicine and Medical School, Irakleion University, Crete) We anticipate a very stimulating discussion !

There is no fee for participation. Complimentary buffet breakfast and luncheon will be available.

My collaborators in the organizing committee (Drs. Lascou and Tritos), the Board of Directors and me personally hope to see you all on Saturday !
