The Modern Greek Studies Association is sponsoring a panel at the 1998 meeting of the International Studies Association to be held from March 17-21, 1998 in Minneapolis, MN. The panel has no topic as of yet in order to encourage as many applicants as possible. The only stipulation is that papers need to examine modern Greece either as a primary or secondary case. ISA is an international organization composed largely of political scientists but it also encourages others to participate. I personally wish to encourage historians, economists, sociologists, anthropologists, and political scientists to apply for inclusion in the panel. One need not be a member of ISA to participate although it is highly recommended.

The application needs to include the following:

name, institutional affiliation, address, tel, fax, e-mail, title of paper, and a brief abstract of roughly 150 words.

Anyone interested in being a discussant is also encouraged to apply with the same and insted of abstract submit a brief cv to highlight areas of competence and interest.

The deadline for applications is June 1. They should be sent to Nikos Zahariadis, Department of Political Science, FT 814, State University of New York, New Paltz, NY 12561.
