    [01] TOMORROW WILL BE A CRUCIAL DAY IN THE AEGEAN SEA

    Athens, January 4 (MPA)

    Tomorrow is considered to be a crucial day in the Aegean Sea as, according to the scenario of the Turkish air-and-sea military exercise currently underway, the Turkish air force may actually violate Greece's FIR.

    The Under-secretary of National Defence Dimitris Apostolakis stated that Greece's armed forces are ready and on guard.

    The government is observing the Turkish exercise and is briefing the State Department and its allies in the European Union.

    A recent report written by professor Yiannis Spraos concerning the public sector has brought on upheaval among a score of people.

    According to the report, a change in hierarchy is to take place in the state's public domain and a cross-ministerial authority is to be formed aiming at controlling public expenses.

    [03] FYROM'S RAILWAY CELEBRATES 125 YEARS WITH THESSALONIKI'S ROUTE

    Thessaloniki, January 4 (MPA)

    The Greek Railway Organisation is to conduct its first route from Thessaloniki to Skopje, the capital of FYROM, thus giving the opportunity to FYROM's Railway Organisation to celebrate its 125 years of operation.

    According to FYROM's Railway Organisation chief Stojan Nawmof, the link between Thessaloniki and Skopje is to constitute a significant step in strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

    [04] KURDISH EXODUS FROM TURKEY ALARMS EUROPEANS

    Almost in their entirety, the European governments are expressing their opposition to the vast exodus of Kurdish people from Turkey.

    German Foreign Minister Klaus Kinkel has asked that measures be drawn in order to contain the hundreds of Kurdish individuals who are trying to enter Europe in any way or form.

    Meanwhile, three Turkish ships transporting over 800 Kurds are currently sailing in the open sea off of the Italian coast.
