Mr. Evert's tour was an act of solidarity and support to the Greek ethnic minority living in Albania, which community is tormented on a daily basis by looters and masked robbers. The lawsuit had been filed by parents of high school students. He further clarified that he will resign only if his Democratic Party loses.As was expected, this announcement ignited the fermenting tension throughout Albania and the leaders of the armed civilians are now demanding that they meet with the new Premier Bashkim Fino. In Tirana, thousands of persons participated in a peaceful rally demanding an end to the violence. [04] OSCE GIVES GREEN LIGHT FOR FORCE TO BE ASSIGNED TO ALBANIAWeb Posted: 21:05 GMT+2Brussels, March 16 (MPA)The Organization for Security and Cooperation n Europe (OSCE) has approved of sending a small peacekeeping force to Albania to restore order.Personnel from Greece, Italy and the Netherlands will join officers from the European Union and the OSCE tomorrow in order to hold talks with the Albanian caretaker government. Meanwhile, Albania's Socialist Party leader Fatos Nano, who was freed last week after having been incarcerated for four years, was officially pardoned by Albanian President Sali Berisha today. "Foremostly, I believe that the Greek minority will benefit and thrive once again," Mr. Reppas stated.
