[02] GREECE ENGAGED IN A JUST, ANTI-FASCIST AND LIBERATION FIGHT THAT HAD AN IMPACT ON THE WHOLE OF EUROPE

The fact that Greece engaged in a just, anti-fascist and liberation fight which had an impact not only on the Balkans but on the whole of Europe as well, was stressed in all the speeches made in an event organized in Tirana by the Greek-Albanian Friendship Association in cooperation with the Association of Albanian Army Historians on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the greek-italian war in 1940.

Albanian professor Gjergi Titani stressed in his speech that none believed a small country like Greece could win a powerful country like Italy but the miracle happened thanks to the national unity, the patriotism and the heroism of the greek people and the greek army.

Albanian historians Ziza Xholi, Shahin Leka, Virgjil Janku and Pipi Mitrojorgji stressed that during the war was displayed once again the friendship that exists between the greek and the albanian people.

[03] THE PRIME MINISTER'S MESSAGE FOR THE ANNIVERSARY OF GREECE'S REFUSAL TO SURRENDER TO THE ITALIAN FORCES IN WORLD WAR II

Greek Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou in his message for tomorrow's "Ohi" ("No") Day anniversary of Greece's refusal to surrender to the italian forces during World War II stressed that the greek heroic national resistance, the continuous struggle for freedom, national independence and democracy constitute principles still upheld by the greek people.

Mr.Papandreou also mentions in his message that the national unity is necessary at today's juncture for the safeguarding of Greece's national interests adding that in a period of serious problems in the region, Greece remains firm in its positions.

The greek Prime Minister continues in his message that 50 years after the end of World War II Greece again says "No" this time to the new expressions of fascism and racism which are creeping phenomena in today's societies.
