Greek Prime Minister mr Andreas Papandreou called today during their first session, the new ministers, sworn in on Friday to accelerate their pace in the production of the work of the government and to cooperate with eiach otrher as much as possible so that they protect each other.
At the same time addresing the new members of the cabinet mr Papandreou called on them to stop ignoring the deputies of the party and to open a dialogue with the citizens.
Mr Papandreou expressed his full satisfaction for the results the leadership pof the financial ministries achieved bringing inflation down to 8% which is the lowest percentage in the last 23 years.
Once again mr Papandreou referred to the media as the means for the exercising of policy saying that the TV channels are the forst means of politics role which in the past had the parliament.
The interim agreement achieved with FYROM moves towards the right direction based on the cabinet resolution of February 1994, said today the Greek Prime Minister mr Andreas Papandreou.
The terms set then, said mr Papandreou are covered fully by the agreement and stressed that no pressure was exercised on Athens so that the agreement was signed.
Greek Press and Media Minister mr Tilemachos Hitiris excluded today any eventuality of a referendum on the relations with FYROM as the minor opposition party of Political Spring asked.
At the same time the spokemsan said that the palriament will discuss the issue during an outside the agenda discussion after it has been officialy called on the first Monday of October and in any case after the bilateral talks between Athens and FYROM have been finished in New York.
11 MPs of the minor opposition party of Political Spring deposited today a proposal for a vote of disapproval against the government for its handling of the agreement with the FYROM.
Secretary of the parliamentary group of the party mr Stephanos Stephanopoulos said that the agreement is a paper without any use and predicted that it will be thrown.
According to the greek constitution the prospoal will not be discussed unless it collects fifty signatures which seems to be impossible after the leader of the main opposition party of New Democracy excluded any eventuality that his party will support such a proposal.
European Union Commissioner responsible on antagonism mr van Miert said that the European Commision asked for more informattion so that they decide on the suggestion Athens made on the future of the still state owned shipyards of Scaramagas where 4000 people are employed.
According to the decision of the greek government 51% of the shares of the shipyards will belong to the greek state while the 49% to the employees and the management wuill be given to an international house.

The extraordinary session of the rectors of the eighteen high education institutes of Greece decided yesterday that they will close their institutes between the 16th and the 22nd of October as a sign of protest against the financial problems of the function of the faculties which they attributed to the bureaucracy of the Ministry of Education.
The Minister of Education mr Georgios Papandreou expressed his optimism that al the problems will be solved through the new leag settlements he will put forward in the Parliament.
