Greek Macedonia - Thrace Minister mr Constantinos Triaridis expressed his full satisfaction for the results of the informal ministerial session of the heads of the Balkan countries deligation who will take part in the UN conference on the status of women in the society due in Beizing, China on September 1st. In the session all parties concluded that there are a lot of common interests and much common will for peace and development in the area said Mr Triaridis.
Greek Presidency Vice Minister ms Maria Arseni who is responsible for the issues of the equality of sexes said that through such meetings, there will be closer cooperation in all sectors and added that Greece as a state-member of the European Union is committeed to promote the Union projects as PHARE and INTERREG. In a common statement issued after the session all parties agreed that peace is a neccessary term for democracy, development and progress and expressed their deep concern over the developments in Yugoslavia reiterating their support to the efforts of the International community for a fair and permanent political solution in the area.
All parties agreed that the equality of sexes is a precondition for the establishment of democracy in the area and that they will cooperate towards the promotion of mutual understanding and cooperation among all states of the area.
Turkish Presidency Minister responsible of issues of women ms Baycal stressed that women indefferent of nation or religion have common problems and added that she knows men and women in Turkeuy who wish a peaceful relation with Greece.
In the session Albanian deligation was headed by the Labour and Migration Minister Engyel Dagli, the Bulgarian by the Labour and Social Affairs Vice Minister ms Evgenia SpasovaPopova, the Romanian by the Fiancial reformations Vice Minister ms Puwak Hildegard and the Yugoslav by Minister Bratislava Morina who gave a great many interviews to the Greek Press on the issue of refugees in her country.
The criteria for the return of all those who once left Greece during or after the civil war were set in 1984 and have been applied since then said today the Greek Press and Media Minister mr Evangelos Venizelos who stressed that these citeria were approved of by a very wide majority in the Greek parliament and have not been changed ever after.

Meanwhile Athens expressed today sorrow over the unexpected daeth of the three US officials in Sarajevo last Saturday.
Prime Minister Papandreou sent a telegram to the US President Bill Clinton while Press and Media Minister mr Evangelos Venizelos characterised as important the statement that the accident will not influence negatively the peace process in the area.
The US Presidential advisor mr George Stephanopoulos who is of Greek origin arrived in Nikosia late today and stressed again the need for courage both sides should show so that a solution is found.
Mr Stephanopoulos travelled via Athens to Cyrpus where he will meet Cypriot President mr Glafkos Kliridis and the turkish cypriot leader mr Rauf Denktash.
When asked about a reference by mr Stephanopoulos to compormises on the problem of Cyprus, Greek Press and Media Minister mr Evangelos Venizelos said today that this porblem is one which is very easy to describe since it it is a problem of foreign invasion and occupation of a big part of the Reoublic of Cyrpus by the Turkish armed forces.
Mr Stephanopoulso will return to Athens on Wednesday and will have contacts with Greek Officials among which Prime Minister mr Andreas Papandreou.
There is no chance that a meeting with the Prime Minister with an essential content is asked and rejected said today the Greek Press and Media Minister mr Evangelos Venizelos commenting on information published in the Press and according to which the Prime Minister's Political Bureau refused to set a meeting with the United States Ambassador in Athens mr Tomas Niles.
