Public Power Corporation (DEH) employees, who are staging a 48-hour strike since yesterday, have occupied the company's headquarters in Halkokondili St. Rotating power cuts are likely to continue on Wednesday to cope with demand. GENOP-DEH board is scheduled to meet with Employment Minister A. Loberdos at 12:30, on Wednesday.

    Disruptions in Electricity Supply

Most of DEH power stations are closed due to employees strike in protest against cuts in salaries and pensions and suspension of personnel hiring.

Wednesday's power cut schedule is to be announced at noon.

Fine weather conditions limiting need for heating is an encouraging factor. However, power cut schedule, if necessary will be formulated by DEH in cooperation with Greece's power grid operator. Disruption in electricity supply was recorded at 06:30, on Wednesday in Kalithea -Nea Smirni Attica suburbs. According to the company's technicians, failure of high voltage power line caused disruption in power supply.
