    Dispute between the government and the opposition on the issue of election of the President of the Republic continues. The government spokesman accused PASOK sustaining talks about elections and stresses that the government's top priority remains promotion of its work to the benefit of the people. In response to George Papandreou responsible proposal for the holding of elections in September followed by an agreement on the election of the President of the Republic the government speaks of election scenarios said PASOK spokesman George Papakonstantinou, adding that PASOK does not play with institutions.

    [02] $1 Billion to Fight H1N1

    United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said ahead of a meeting with donors in Geneva, Monday that his organization would need 1 billion dollars to fight the H1N1 virus in developing countries - through the end of this year alone. "We need to get more resources available," Ban told reporters in Geneva, calling for "global solidarity."

    While vaccine manufacturers had said they would have doses ready by the autumn, the funds to help the world's poorer nations deal with the H1N1 virus were still lacking, he said. A high school in Berlin, Germany will remain closed for a week after 8 students tested positive for swine flu.

    A high school in Berlin, Germany will remain closed for a week after 8 students tested positive for H1N1 flu. Three of the students are US nationals, who are attending the school program within the context of a students' exchange program. All patients show mild symptoms and are reciving treatment with Tamiflu.

    All students are at home quarantine while health authorities did not rule out new cases. The head-master send letters to the parents of the 660 students in the high-school, explaining that the school will remain closed to prevent further spreading of the disease. Summer holidays begin on July, 15, in Germany. Over 500 cases of the A flu H1N1 have been recorded in Germany since the outbreak of the pandemic.
