    Politics

On the occasion of SYRIZA 1st Panhellenic Conference on Education, SYN president, Alexis Tsipras expounded the party's positions on education. Mr. Tsipras underlined that the country needs "honest solutions" explaining that the party can not participate in a dialogue on the grounds of a zero base because we are well below zero, underlining the existence of many open wounds.

"Open Wounds" He said that the Education Ministercan not call a dialogue on the grounds of a zero base unless he tries to resolve the issues of under-finance of education, article 16, KES, 10 base for admission to tertiary education and leakage of exams questions. [02] Dispute at Party Leaders' Level

    Politics

Dispute on the economy at party leaders level continue after the Prime-minister's tour of Agrinio and G. Papandreou of Beroia. Prime-minister Kostas Karamanlis repeated his call for consent of political forces to exit the country from the financial crisis while PASOK president stressed that it was high time for change in the country's political course.

    Wrangling Continues

Wrangling on the economy between Kostas Karamanlis and George Papandreou continues with the Prime-minister calling for national consent in his speech in Agrinio and George Papandreou raising question of change of political course in his speech in Beroia.

"The coming months are crucial and difficult. Global circumstances demand indication of maturity and responsibility with our daily actions to achieve our common targets, looking forward to the benefit of the country. We should realize our national obligation and indicate willingness for understanding, stressed the Prime-minister speaking of a national challenge".

"We are defenseless in dealing with the crisis under the government's responsibility and there is no time to waste" stressed George Papandreou and expounded PASOK 5 national targets for the country's exit from the crisis. Addressing the government, he called it to make room for Greece to pass.

In a counter response to PASOK attack, taking the stand at a conference of NODE Pellas, Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyiannis said: "They have nothing to say about dealing with the crisis, nothing to say about support of citizens affected by the crisis, they only ask for elections". Mrs. Bakoyianni blamed PASOK for inability to voice a trustworthy political proposal.

    GCP-SYN-LAOS Statements

Commenting on G. Papandreou speech, the GCP said: "PASOK leadership is trying to hide that its policy is as harmful for people as the ND policy. Both parties serve the needs of plutocracy, expressed by the EU's reactionary instructions.

In his statements in Thessaloniki, SYN president Alexis Tsipras described Euro-elections, held in June, as an opportunity for the people to show their dissatisfaction to the political system and the two political parties which created the present situation. He set the dilemma: " Turn page or one of the same. Reconfirmation of the two parties which created the crisis or turn to the left", he said characteristically.

LAOS spokesman Kyriakos Belopoulos, referring to G. Papandreou speech said that PASOK president reconfirmed that he carried past sins. "Populism, hypocricy and hunger for power was abundant in G. Papandreou speech. He said that the wealthy should pay the burden of the financial crisis, though clarifying the wealthy of the last five years. In other words, the wealthy of the last 20 years should not pay for the burden of the financial crisis?"
