Efraim Testifies

Abbot of Vatopedi Monastery Efraim and abbot Arsenios testify today in
the prosecutor Anastasios Kanellopoulos as suspects for accessory
before an act and violation of duty. Vatopedi monastery submitted a
lawsuit in 2003 claiming from the Greek state land that had been
recognized to the monastery by 2002 jurisdiction of law. Pending the
decision of the court the States Legal Council accepted the demand of
the Monastery for consent with the Greek state so as for the trial to
be cancelled. The record was submitted to Court in June 2004.
