A series of talks between Greeces Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis and reps of social partners before top ministers kicks off on Monday. GSEE (Greek General Confederation of Labour) is the first to cross Maximos Mansions doorstep, with a package of financial and tax incentives in hand. The meeting will take place before the Ministers of Finance, Development and Employment. Later on, the Prime Minister will welcome the boards of the Federation of Greek Industries (FGI), the National Confederation of Hellenic Commerce (ESEE) and the General Confederation of Small and Medium Sized Business (GSEVEE). On Tuesday, it is ADEDYs (Supreme Administration of Greek Civil Servants Trade Unions) turn to unveil its demands. Karamanlis will continue holding talks with senior ministers, while a forthcoming Inner Cabinet sitting will approve the speech Karamanlis is to deliver at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF). He is to outline the pillars of the income police, with the Ministry of Finance aiming at a balanced choice between specific provisions to the low-income earners and tax measures targeting the rich.
