The six powers holding nuclear talks with Tehran agreed Monday to pursue new actions against Iran if it does not respond positively to their offer of incentives to freeze uranium enrichment operations, the US State Department said. Representatives of the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China spoke by telephone conference Monday and agreed to push for new action against Iran, said State Department spokesman Gonzago Gallegos. "We agreed that in the absence of a positive response, we have no choice but to pursue further measures," he said. The six, including the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, spoke after EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana reported to them that his talks with Iran s top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili were "inconclusive."
