Participants did not speak of any intention to increase production in the immediate future. Saudi Arabia, however, a few days ago had announced that it will increase its production by 200.000 barrels a day next month. The final communique of the summit, held under the auspices of Saudi Arabia, International Energy Service, International Energy Forum and OPEK emphasised the importance of greater transparency in oil markets and more investment in production. Additional dynamic in the production line is necessary for stability in world oil market, therefore increase in investments is necessary for the supply of the market. Analysts believe that the oil price surge will continue due to postponement and unwillingness of participants to reach specific decisions. The oil production countrie (OPEK) have refused to increase production stressing that price rises are caused speculators and only the host king committed himself to increase oil production.
