However, interest lays in Ireland as in about an hour elections on the crucial referendum for the European treaty, will be completed. Lisbon Treaty has been approved by 16 country members. Ireland is the only country that proceeded in a referendum. Irish arrived in ballot center today being torn and without having awareness of the content of the Treaty. "No" would be extremely painful as it would shake Europe especially after the rejection of 2005 Euro Constitution. Manuel Barroso said that there is not an alternative plan. The Treatys rejections may open the road for other countries which belong to Euro disbelievers to cancel its approval in Parliament. It must be noted that Lisbon Treaty must be approved by all 27 country-members in order to be applied from January 1st, 2009. Irelands "yes" would be a great relief and would give the green light to the French presidency to proceed to the reforms.
