    Sources: ÁNA-ÌNA

Olympiakos Piraeus wins Greek league title after Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland rejected petition by Apollon Kalamaria club on Walner case. The case will be discussed in detail at the beginning of May but it is considered impossible that the ruling will be changed. This decision by the Lausanne-based CAS allows the Super League to rubber stamp the final championship standings, giving the "green light" for the start of paly offs on Holy Wednesday. Interest now focuses on AEK, Panathinaikos, Aris and Panionios efforts within the context of play offs for a position in the Champions League second preliminary qualifying round and a position in UEFA cup.

Today is the 41st "Black anniversary" of military coup on April, 21, 1967 which lasted 7 years during which many people were arrested or expelled for their political beliefs while the students uprising at the Polytechnic, in 1973 was the milestone of struggles against the military dictatorship. On the occasion of todays anniversary, PASOK party spokesman, G. Papakonstantinou stressed "We remember tortures, expulsions, murders and violation of democracy and human rights at that period. The struggle for improvement on democracy, human and collective rights is always timely. It may change forms depending on the circumstances, however, it has always been timely and particularly nowadays that institutions, rights and social cohesion is being abused by the present governments policy." In its announcement, the GCP Press Office stresses: "Today, 41 years after the military dictatorship, democratic freedoms and rights continue to be abused. Terrorism prevails at work premises. Workers should defend with courage and solidarity ban of unionist and political action". GCP party members staged a demonstration in Thessaloniki outside police station which housed Security office during the period of dictatorship. The Union of Imprisoned-Expelled during 1967-1974 have organized an event concert on Monday afternoon.
