Heavy political climate prevails in Skopje in view of the new round of negotiations on the name issue, announced by the UN. After a marathon session, the majority of FYROM Parliament voted in favour of its dissolution and the holding of early elections, whose date must be set within two months. Earlier FYROMs President and political leaders had agreed on the countrys participation in the new round of negotiations under UN special envoy Mathew Nimitz, who is to visit Skopje and Athens next Thursday. Greek Foreign Minister, Dora Bakoyianni said that forthcoming elections in Skopje could not be placed as alibi to delay negotiations. In her interview with newspaper "Hmerisia", Mrs. Bakoyianni underlined that both Greece and the international community expects our neigbouring country to respond as soon as possible to the call for a mutually acceptable solution to the name issue within the frame of NATO Summit decision, including geographical determination of the term Macedonia.
