    Following PASOK party President, George Papandreou decision, Evangelos Benizelos, Thodoros Pangalos and Hristos Papoutsis were appointed parliamentary spokesmen for the Movement. Political representatives, competent for each Ministry were also appointed. They are entitled to monitor activities of the respective Minister and will be supported in their mission by the Parliamentary Labor Sectors of the Movement. The political representatives, who are also PASOK deputies, and their respective responsibilities are the following:

    Athens-Sofia Cooperation Protocol

    Athens and Sofia Mayors, Nikitas Kaklamanis and Boiko Borissov signed a Cooperation and Friendship Protocol in the sectors of environment, culture, tourism and economic development between the two cities. Mr. Kaklamanis underlined that cities diplomacy is stronger and more effective for the furthering of relations between two countries rather than governments diplomacy. The Friendship and Cooperation Protocol among others provides for: exchange of information and know how in several administration sectors such as municipal services, management of human resources and municipal companies, cultural activities and tourism, youth and sports, protection of the environment, social welfare and education. Common participation in EU subsidized programs exchange of effective practices relevant to municipal experiences and program management. Organization of training seminars and exchange of employees aimed at broadening knowledge mainly in the sectors of collection of households returns, recycling and urban environment.

    SYRIZA President, Alekos Alavanos opened his tour of Heraklio with a visit to the citys Technological College. Addressing students Mr. Alavanos said "Our party did not have a strong presence in Technological Colleges so far. In many Technological Colleges we did not even have representatives in the Leftist parties lists. We are making stronger efforts this year, which I believe will bring positive results and message in the students elections, he stressed. He went on to say "Do not forget article 16, state Universities issue, to which SYRIZA places high importance" underlined SYRIZA president. Referring to Technological Colleges, he spoke of their tradition and capacities as well as big problems particularly related to the inefficiency of personnel, adding that his party will try to intervene.

    Mr. Alavanos will meet with members of Crete Agrotourism Union in the afternoon and next will visit Arkalohorio Municipality where he will meet with the mayor, members of the Municipal Council and local sectors.

    [04] Inspections in View of Easter

    In view of Easter, the Special Inspections Department begins inspections in the market, particularly focused on products and items of high demand in Easter, to prevent profiteering and protect consumers health. Inspections will intensify from Saturday one week before Easter and end on Thomas Sunday, one week after Easter Day. The general secretary of the Special Inspections Department, Spiros Kladas has sent a circular to all regional departments with detailed instructions on inspection procedures.

    Shop Opening hours for Easter take effect as of Thursday, April, 17. On Thursday and Friday, April 17, 18 respectively shops will open from 09:00 to 21:00 while on Saturday, April, 19 shops will open from 09:00 -16:00 in the afternoon. From Holy Monday till Holy Thursday shops will open from 09:00-21:00, on Holy Friday from 13:00-19:00 and on Holy Saturday from 09:00-15:00. Piraeus shops will open at 08:00 in the morning as it is a port city. Shops will remain closed on Monday, April, 28, 2008. Shops will return to regular opening hours as of Tuesday, April, 29.
