    Olympic Flame in Acropolis

    29 Mar 2008 20:09:00

Concluding 6th day of Torchlight Race for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the Olympic Flame arrived in Ancient Greeces most important symbol, the Acropolis, at 19:00 this evening. The leader of National Polo team, which won the silver medal in Athens 2004 Olympic Games, Boula Kozomboli, who received the flame from the members of the polo team, lit the altar at the Holy Hill. The flame will be handed to the Chinese, hosts of Olympic Games 2008 at a special event, to be held at the Panathinaiko Stadium, at 15:00 tomorrow. The Olympic Flame will start its long journey to Bejing from the stadium where the first modern Olympics were held. Special traffic measures will be in effect along the route from the Acropolis to the Panathinaiko Stadium. An aircraft, bearing Beijing Olympic Games colours, left China for Athens early this morning, to transfer the flame to the far away country.

[02] GCP Attack against ND, PASOK, SYN/SYRIZA

    29 Mar 2008 15:40:00

    By Vivian Papastefanou

In a long announcement, the GCP Central Committee calls on workers to unite against bipartisanism launching a strong attack against SYN / SYRIZA party maintaining that it actively participates in the plutocracys plans to reform and restructure the political system. It agrees to its use and to an upgraded role within the general plans of the system to stabilize the prevalent policy with a leftist alibi. There is no bigger proof than to its blatant support and promotion by all mass media. One of their common grounds is the fight against the GCP.

The GCP believes that "we are before a new common plan with multiple targets. It is being designed by the same center, the EU with the active participation and support of its member states", according to which several cartels, industrialists, big businessmen, ship owners, large construction companies, arm dealers, hotel owners and all those who have built big wealth during the PASOK and ND parties rulings demand, blackmail and promote a new package of anti- popular measures and policies for the coming years. According to the GCP they are all interested in a strong government, capable of serving their targets. They are not willing to allocate a euro for the peoples needs and they do not hesitate before any crime and dirty trick. At the same time, they use renewal of persons, parties and new alliances as the vehicle to hide the "strap" they hold against the people.

The announcement also says that a coordinated attack has been launched against the GCP and its leadership due to its increase in force during the last elections, describing it as a precursor of escalation of attacks against the peoples rights. It also says that there is exclusion of the GCP from mass media and misinterpretation of its positions. It concludes, however, that the GCP more experienced than ever before, united and with a strong common will is deeply aware of its responsibility and role, adding that there is no force to stop its struggle for the peoples rights.
