GSEE (Greek General Confederation of Labour) will seek recourse to courts, in an attempt to annul provisions of the Social Security System. At the same time, GSEE Secretary General and DAKE (Democratic Independent Workers Movement) President Kostas Poupakis criticized the methodology used by ALKO on behalf of the Confederation. At the same time, PAME (All Workers Militant Front) has announced that it will proceed with strikes, demanding the annulment of the national labour contract. On Monday, a protest rally will be held before the Parliament and on Thursday, Trade Unionists will present the President of the Parliament a list of names of those who are in favour of a referendum

In view of Easter, prefectures are intensifying their checks on meat sold in the Greek market. Dimitris Drakos, the president of the Greek Self-Governments met with the board of PASEGES (Panhellenic Confederation of Unions of Agricultural Cooperatives) Friday and assured that all prefects are ready to protect the consumers health and the stockbreeders viability. Among the measures to be taken to the benefit of consumers are the following: Receipts for sold meat as of 10 April will bear an indication of the country of origin of the meat. If the meat is Greek it will state where the animal was born and raised and if it comes from the EU it will also state the country of origin, while for meat imported from no EU member states the receipt will bear the indication Third country.

    Sources: ΝΕΤ-ΝΕΤ 105.8

The Court of First Instance has ruled that OME-OTEs (Federation of OTE Employees) strike is illegal but not improper. However, the employees continued with their strike today and have decided to continue with strikes as of 7 April in reaction to the partial privatization of the company. At the same time, the board of OTE (Hellenic Telecommunications) accuses Trade Unionists of blackmailing the employees, who wish to work, proceeding with a legal redress against Fridays strike by OME/OTE.
