    State mechanism has been placed on the alert due to forecast for further deterioration of weather during the weekend, particularly in east continental and south parts of the country. There is a ban on sailing from the ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio. In the Argosaronikos Sea, closed type ships are operating on schedule while flying dolphins lines are sailing up to the island of Aigina. Latest weather forecast has warned of heavy rains and storms in east Sterea, Eboia, the Peloponnese and the Aegean islands and snow fall on high ground and lower parts of Thessaly, the Peloponnese, Eboia, east Sterea including Attika. In the meantime, snow chains are necessary in the mountainous road network of the Florina, Pellas and Hmathia prefectures which are already covered in snow.
