    As of Sunday, President of the Hellenic Republic Karolos Papoulias is on a visit in Egypt and will be meeting with his Egyptian counterpart, Hosni Mubarak, on Monday. Mr Papoulias arrived in Alexandria in the morning in order to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Church of the Annunciation. Following, Mr Papoulias will also attend the inauguration ceremony of the Alexandria Patriarchal Mansion and lay a wreath at the Monument of Greek Heroes. He will also meet with representatives of the Greek Community in Egypt, while the Pope and Patriarch Theodoros of Alexandria and all Africa will host an official luncheon at the President's honour. In the afternoon, Mr Papoulias will visit the Library of Alexandria, where he will attend the signing of a Collaboration Memorandum between the Library and the Onassis Foundation and will then be given the grand tour of the Alexandria Library.

    [02] Meetings with Iraqi Officials Rice-Straw Surprise Visit

    US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and her British counterpart, Jack Straw, arrived in Baghdad on Sunday for a visit, which had been kept secret for security reasons, as per US and British sources in the Iraqi capital and the Arab television network Al Arabiya. This visit is held while Iraqi political leaders are reviewing the formation of a government of national unity. The representative of the British embassy to Baghdad, Lisa Glover, said Straw is in Iraq to discuss the formation of the Government. Jack Straw and Condoleezza Rice are to meet within the day with Prime Minister Ibrahim Jaafari, President Jalal Talabani and other leaders. Meanwhile, the US army announced the death of four soldiers today during an operation at the Sunni province of Al Anbar, west of Baghdad.
