Shortly before, a murderous event took place at the village of Malakasi, in the Trikala Prefecture, in a police van, which was transporting prisoners from Giannena to Trikala and Larissa. Information is unclear over how the incident happened, such as if there was a mutiny or an ambush was set up, as well as who and how many are dead and if there are any fugitives. However, initial information spoke of two casualties, one wounded and two fugitives, while the police are on a manhunt for their location

[02] For Any Problems On Full Alert

Rainfalls have been affecting western Greece since nighttime, which will spread throughout the country, while gales, reaching 10 Beaufort, are blowing in the seas. The State is on full alert for facing any problems, however, up to the moment intervention was not necessary. The Prefectures of Preveza and Arta have sounded the alarm, from the danger of the rivers Louros, Acherontas and Arachthos overflowing, while the picture is similar in the Prefectures of Evros and Ilia. The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (HNMS) forecasted an improvement in weather starting from the northwest. Sailing has been banned from the port of Rafina due to the gales.

The Weather

As per HNMS, for today there will be heavy rainfalls and thunderstorms in western Greece, Macedonia, Thrace and islands of the northern and eastern Aegean with gales in the Aegean Sea. Temperature will range from 9 to 20 degrees Celsius.

In Attica, scattered rain and local thunderstorms. The winds will blow south, strong to gale force and quite possibly local gale force. The temperature will reach 16 degrees Celsius.

In Thessaloniki, cloudiness with scattered rain and thunderstorms are forecasted. The winds will blow gusty, while in the afternoon they will turn into northwestern and weaken. The temperature will reach 14 degrees Celsius.

This is officially confirmed by numbers, which brought the Rolling Stones at the top of ticket sales, grossing 162 million dollars from 42 concerts in the US. The Stones broke their previous record of 121 million dollars in 1994 from concerts in North America. Irish band U2 followed with ticket sales reaching 138.9 million dollars with 78 concerts in 2005. Following the Stones and U2 came Celine Dion with 81.3 million dollars in 155 shows in Las Vegas. [05] Ten Sudanese Refugees Killed Bloody Incidents in Egypt

The Ministry for the Interior announced that ten Sudanese refugees were killed, among whom a 4-year-old girl, during an operation of the Egyptian police for the removal of hundreds of refugees camping outside UN offices in the Egyptian capital. 30 refugees, 10 of whom died, were injured in the incidents, as per the Ministry for the Interior, which added that the victims were elderly and youths.

The Egyptian police fired water cannons to disperse the Sudanese, who for months have been living in a park in Cairo. Approximately 3,500, regardless of the polices intervention, voiced their determination to remain in the park, situated in the area of Mohandessin, until an agreement is reached with the UNs intervention, in order to depart Egypt and relocate to another country.

Government officials in Cairo reported that they tried to persuade the Sudanese to board buses that would take them to better facilities for two hours, until a solution was found for their problem, but the refugees answered that they dont believe the promises of the authorities. The forceful intervention of the police followed, which resulted in many Sudanese refugees injury, and the death of ten. The UNHCR had announced that it is trying to help the Sudanese flocking to Egypt to avoid the situation in their country, but cannot guarantee their relocation to another country.

[06] It is an Exceptionally Rare Phenomenon Snow in Saudi Arabia

Snow made its appearance in northwestern Saudi Arabia, where temperature dropped below zero, reported tonight the official state-run news agency Spa. The phenomenon is exceptionally rare for Saudi Arabia, since the country ranks among the most arid areas of the planet. It is with the desalination of sea water that Saudi Arabia meets the needs of its residents. Snow had also appeared in the north of the country in 2002, the first time in the last 40 years.
