[01] More than 12 Arrests Made Inqilabi Claimed Responsibility

New Delhi has sounded the alarm, after the triple bombing attack on Saturday, which cost the lives of 61 persons and the injuring of 200. The government has asked residents to avoid commuting, markets have closed and armed policemen have lined up around governmental buildings and busy areas. Moreover, at least 12 persons have been arrested since Saturday evening, and more than 50 interrogated by the Police. In the meantime, a previously unknown organisation from Kashmir, Inqilabi (Revolutionary) group, claimed responsibility of the attack, warning of new hits in the future. The authorities are investigating the authenticity of the claim. The global community condemned that attacks, and send its condolences to India and the victims families. UN General Secretary Kofi Annan voiced his repulsion. The triple attack was condemned by the EU Foreign Policy High Representative Javier Solana, French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin and Pakistan. Italian Foreign Minister Gianfranco Fini voiced his repulsion.

Aimed at Spreading Terror and Death

The explosions drowned India in mourning, a few days before Diwali, the Celebration of Lights, the biggest Hinduism celebration. The explosions occurred within minutes from each other. Two of them occurred in the largest and busiest markets of the Indian capital, and the third, near a bus.

Analysts noted that the perpetrators wanted to cause terror that is why they chose to strike during this time, in places where families would have been gathered.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh convened an emergency meeting. Earlier, he stated that India will not put up with terrorism, avoiding to say who could be behind these attacks.

However, today, certain newspapers pointed the finger at two extremist organisations based in Pakistan, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, which have been accused for similar actions in the past. There are many extremist organisations in India, but as per the experts, only Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed could organise attacks of such extent.

[03] Traffic Accident with Greek Tourists

On Saturday evening, eight Greek tourists, boarded on a tourist bus, were lightly injured in a car accident at Karlovi Vari Road, Prague, in the Czech Republic. As per sources of the Greek Embassy in the Czech Republic, only one of the injured persons, a woman, was taken to hospital. The holidaymakers, travelling with Amphitryon Tour Operators, are expected to return to Greece tonight.

[04] With Six Casualties Multi-Casualty Car Accident

On Sunday morning, six persons lost their lives in a car accident at the 56th km of the Thessaloniki-Nea Moudania National Road, in Chalkidiki. The multi-casualty accident took place when a vehicle headed towards Nea Moudania crashed head-on with another vehicle carrying five foreigners. The passengers of the second vehicle were fatally wounded, while the young driver of the first vehicle was burned, when his car caught fire. A preliminary investigation on the causes of the accident is carried out by the Traffic Police Department of Nea Moudania.
