    ND maintains a 4.1% lead (36.1%) against PASOK (32%), in voter intention. They are followed by KKE with 5.9%, Synaspismos 3.7% and LAOS 3.5%, according to a poll by the company "Opinion", published in the newspaper Kiriakatiki Eleftherotypia . 49% consider Mr Karamanlis most suitable as Prime Minister, against 32.3% for George Papandreou. On the likelihood of a win, ND is ahead with 59.1% against 21.4% for PASOK. The most suitable party to rule is considered to be ND with 36.2% against 25.4% for PASOK. The economy with 72.9% comes in first place in the ranking of the most significant problems faced by Greece. This is followed by unemployment with 58.8%, the Church 7.8%, education and corruption 7.1%, pollution 6%, hospital operation 5.6% and justice 2%. Archbishop Anastasios of Albania is ahead among Church leaders, while he is followed by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Archbishop Christodoulos of Athens.

    New Poll by ALCO

    42% of citizens are against a reshuffle, with 38% in favour, according to a new opinion poll conducted by ALCO on behalf of the newspaper Proto Thema. On the issue of contract workers, 67.8% consider that the government did not keep its promises, against 22.8%.

    On the question of how satisfied the interviewee was with the PM, 20% stated very satisfied, 25% fairly satisfied, 36% a little bit satisfied and 22% not at all satisfied.

    50.5% consider that the President of PASOK will stay in the Opposition, while 31.6% believe that he will win the next elections.

    A protest rally is currently underway outside Amigdaleza Detention Centre in Thrakomakedones, where 120 women are children illegal immigrants are being held. They are all threatened with deportation, as they do not possess legal documents permitting them to stay in Greece. Womens groups, political bodies and parties are taking part in the protest.

    [03] Five dead Exchange of Fire in Afghanistan

    Three Taliban supporters and two civilians were killed in eastern Afghanistan, when allied forces responded to an attack with a storm of fire, as announced on Saturday by the American military. The incident occurred on Wednesday, according to the statement. Three armed fighters participating in the attack were killed in the exchange of fire. There were civilians in the area, which turned into a battlefield. Two of these were killed and a further three were injured, reports the statement. Furthermore, two soldiers with the allied forces were injured. In Afghanistan, approximately 18,000 troops are operating under the leadership of the US, searching for remnants of the Islamic movement of the Taliban and members of the Al Qaeda network, mainly in the south and southeast of the country.

    [04] Abbas under pressure Searching for Suspects

    Five Palestinians suspected of involvement in the 25 February suicide attack in Tel Aviv are under interrogation by the Palestinian security forces. The five suspects were arrested at the home of the suicide bomber in Tulkarem and are being held in Jericho. Palestinian leader Mahoud Abbas is under a great deal of pressure from Israel and the United States to arrest all those who are behind the attack, which killed 5 Israeli citizens. In his statement yesterday, Abbas stated that it is difficult to stop suicide attacks if Israel does not surrender the control of large cities in the West Bank to the Palestinians. On Saturday in Hebron, the Palestinian police confiscated bombs and other weapons, for the first time in the last four years.

    [05] 140 authentic works The Nude in Czech Photography 1960-2000

    Athens Technopolis is organizing, from 18 March to 24 April 2005, an amazing photography exhibition, titled "The Nude in Czech Photography 1960-2000" The exhibition will present one hundred and forty authentic works by the 42 best-known Czech photographers who are attracted by the human nude, such as Jan Saudek and Ivan Pinkava, who are internationally renowned in the world of photography, as well as successful artists in the fashion world, such as Tono Stano. The Exhibition was first presented at the International Photography Festival "Photobiennale of Moscow" in 2002, and following this traveled to many European cities. The exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday 18 March at 20:00.

    Among the artists there are those who stand out for their originality: Rudo Prekop, Vasil Stanko, Kamil Varga, Miloslav Stibor, Clifford Seidling, Vaclav Chochola, Pavel Banka, Taras Kuscynskyj, Michal Macku and others, and the young photographer Michaela Brachtlova.
