[01] France questions 13 in raids over Casablanca bombs

Early morning police raids in poor suburbs of Paris netted 13 people suspected of links to the deadly suicide bomb attacks in Morocco last year, Frances Interior Ministry said today.

The detainees were suspected of belonging to a militant Moroccan Islamic group that Spain suspects has al Qaeda links and carried out last months Madrid train bombings. Those detained were not directly linked to the commuter train bombings in Madrid that killed 191 people on March 11.

[04] Recognise Turk Cypriots if south votes 'no'-Turkey

Turkey will demand international recognition for breakaway northern Cyprus if the Greek Cypriot south rejects a U.N. peace plan for the island, Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul was quoted on Monday as saying. But a new opinion poll in the Turkish Cypriot enclave showed that a yes vote in the north is also far from certain when Cypriots vote in twin north-south referendums on April 24.

[05] Government and opposition party officials head to Cyprus

Deputy Foreign Minister Yiannis Valinakis and New Democracy Secretary Vangelis Meimarakis will visit Cyprus for consultations with representatives of the Cypriot government and the Cypriot political parties.

At the same time, a delegation of main opposition Socialist Party of PASOK, comprised of Akis Tsochatzopoulos, Anna Diamantopoulou, Yiannos Papantoniou, professor Papadimitriou and professor Pampoukis, arrived in Cyprus today in order to conduct separate meetings with Cypriot President Tassos Papadopoulos and all political party leaders represented in the Cypriot Parliament.

[06] Gov't spokesperson say Cypriots should bot be influenced on their decision

Government spokesperson, Theodoris Rousopoulos stated today that the Cypriot people should be left uninfluenced and the Greek government should express its position in the appropriate time. He also reiterated the statement made by the Prime Minister in Parliament that Greece cooperates, supports and participates.

[07] Countdown to April 24th referenda for Cyprus

The final countdown for the April 24 referenda in Cyprus has begun with feverish consultations taking place in Athens and Nicosia. Cypriot president Tasos Papadopoulos met today with the countrys political parties. On Good Wednesday and Good Thursday Mr. Papadopoulos is scheduled to make an announcement to the Cypriot people regarding the Annan plan.
