Students of the 3rd grade are being examined in History while 2nd grade students in Modern Greek language(20/5/2003 12:59:00 μμ) [04] Employees of two bankrupt businesses meet with Labor MinisterEmployees of two high profile Greek businesses that have just filed for bankruptcy and another which is relocating to a country with lower production costs will today meet with Labor Ministry leadership. Th Yvonne chain of cosmetic retailers and the Antonopoulos chain of supermarkets have suffered a protracted period of financial difficulties increasingly losing their market shares in recent years. Around 200 people are expected to lose their jobs. He noted that loss of funds will be virtually nil.Greece is scheduled to collect up to 26 billion euros from the third EU support framework, running from 2000 to 2006, but expected to be extended for several years more. (20/5/2003 1:04:00 μμ) [06] Common EU Agricultural policy likely to be signed in JuneEU Commissioner, Frans Fishler, called for Prime-minister, Kostas Simitis contribution so that the EU common agricultural policy bill is passed in the EU summit in June. During his visit to Athens, Mr Fishler met with Agriculture Minister, George Drys, ND party leader, Kostas Karamanlis and representatives of agricultural organisations.The Greek Agriculture Minister stressed the need for sufficient support funds for Mediterranean products while the ND party leader expressed concern over the speeding up of approval of the European Commission proposals. Most southern EU countries call for support of Mediterranean products while northern European countries favor reduction of agricultural subsidies.
