    Sunny throughout Greece with a chance of scattered cloud later in the day in the northewestern parts of the country and possibility of rain or showers. Northerly winds, light to moderate, strong in the Aegean. Temperatures in Athens will range between 25C to 35C and in Thessaloniki between 24C to 32C

    [02] Investigations on November 17 organization continue

    Anti-terror police continue investigations in Attica and other parts of Greece and have intensified questioning of suspects connected with the November 17 organization while according to reports the issue of arrest warants is a matter of short time .

    Referring to recent developments , in his speech at the Pasok party congress, Prime-minister Kostas Simitis said that plenty of light will be shed and those involved in the November 17 will be brought to justice while Government spokesman , Hristos Protopappas called on media to put a halt on rumors and portrayals of people involved in the November 17 ring .

    In the meantime , public prosecutor , Ioannis Diotis had a lengthy discussion on Saturday with Savvas Xiros &#8211;the 40 year old icon painter and son of a priest who was arrested and taken to hospital after a bomb he was allegedly planting exploded prematurely in his hands at a ticket office in Pireus port .

    [03] Prime-minister Simitis- Pasok party victory in all municipalities

    Prime Minister Costas Simitis yesterday closed the meeting of the National Council for Local Administration, organized by the ruling PASOK party in Athens, underlining that there were no minimums in the number of municipalities and prefectures the ruling party would win in the municipal elections in October. ''The aim is victory in every municipality and in every prefecture,based on the visions and plans of the Pasok forces said Mr. Simitis

    Mr. Simitis also underlined that transparency, modernization and development of local societies would be the voters criteria in the local administration elections.

    [04] Symi Symposium on Globalization and future of Europe

    The Symi Symposium on the subject &#8211; Globalization and the future of Europe organized by the Andreas Papandreou foundation is taking place on the island of Samos with the participation of world personalities. Among others attending the symposium are former American President Bill Clinton, E.U Foreign Affairs and Defense policy chief Xavie Solana, Turkish Finance Minister, Kemal Dervis and Greek Foreign Minister , Giorgos Papandreou.

    [05] Church of Greece circular for the prevention of fires

    For the first time this year, the Church of Greece has entered the battle to prevent summer fires .It has sent a circular to all churches with instructions for the prevention and extinguishing of fires.
