In Attica teperature will range fro 15-23 degrees Celcius and in Thessaloniki from 13-23 degrees celcius .[02] FYROM may declare a state of warAt least 10 people have been killed during clashes between the Albanian guerillas and FYROM's forces since last Wednesday. In the meantime , Albanian guerillas opened a secod front in Tetovo yesterday.FYROM's poltical and miltary leadershp is cosidering to declare the country in a state of war , while goverment forces have intensfied attacks aganst albanian guerilla positions in Kumanovo . Fyrom's Defence Ministry has urged people in the area to abandon their homes. The EU Foreign ministers have condemned the activities of the Albanians. EU senior security official ,Xavie Solana will fly to FYROM for talks where he will be joined by NATO general secretary ,Lord Robertson . [03] National capital to finance the socal security systemThe Greek goverment is examining means to finance the social security system prior to the opening of the dialogue with the social partners .In an interview with the newspaper " To Vima ts Kyriakis " , National Economy minister ,Yiannos Papantoniou proposes the creation of "national capital" for social security in order to deal with the future deficits in the social security system predicted for 2012 . This proposal is based on new data presented by Labour minster Tasos Yiannitsis . On their part unionists appeared reserved in relation to the substance of the new proposal , while the board of the General Confederation of Greek Workers meets tomorrow to determine its views and initiatives for the coming period. The president of the GCGW ,Hristos Polyzogopoulos has called for an official goverment proposal in view of the general strike scheduled for May 17. Addressing a party conference yesterday in the city of Komotini for the development of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, the ND president Kostas Karamanlis, called on the Prime- minister to change proposals for reforms in the socal security system if he really wanted the opening of a dialogue with the social partners . [04] Great international coverage of Pope's visit to GreecePope John Paul's visit to Greece has opened a new page in relations between the Orthodox and Catholic churches. Both the Orthodox and Catholic churches appeared satisfied at the results of the Pope's visit to Athens , giving special significance to the contacts and cooperation of the two religious leaders.In the meantime , international mass media has given extensive coverage to Pope's visit to Greece. The "Times " underlines the Pontiff's deep concern at the mistakes made by the Catholic church, while the article also has a detailed description of the two religous leaders contacts and joint statement as well as other indications for the warming up of relations between the two churches . Archibishop of all Russias Alexos II , welcoming him in Moscow yesterday expressed skepticism over the Pope's apology and expressed the view that it should be interpreted according to facts.It should be noted that the Russian church strongly opposes to the Pope's visit to Kiev in June . On his part Archibishop Hristodoulos spoke of the positive aspects of the Pope's visit but stressed that the Catholic church had more steps to make . [06] Prime-minister Simitis in BerlinPrime-minister Simitis is Berlin to attend the European Socialist Party convention which begins today .Issues to be discussed are EU enlargement ,odernisation of the European social and economic model and the promotion of institutional reforms .[07] European Popular Party convention in ThessalonikiND Party President Kostas Karamanlis will today address the two-day convention of the European Popular Party which opens in Thessaloniki today .Issues to be discussed are related to the Balcan region , asylum policy and migration.[08] British press positive on preparations for 2004 Olympic Games in AthensLatest articles in the British press are very positive in relation to preparations for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. An article by Tom Night in the Daily Telrgraph entitled " Athens 2004 back to orbit " has given emphasis on the positive and encouraging statements by Zaques Rogue during his visit to Athens last week .Also an article in the newspaper Guardian by its correspondent in Greece reconfirms the positive progress of Athens preparations for the 2004 Olypic Games .
