  • [01] All prior actions will be completed ahead of Eurogroup; debt only open issue-source

All prior actions will be completed by Greece in the coming days so that the only open issue in the upcoming Eurogroup meeting will be the country's debt, a source said after the meeting of SYRIZA's political secretariat on Tuesday.

Asked if the government has received any new proposals for a deal, the source said no specifics have been submitted, adding that "we are waiting". The same source added the government is expecting proposals and changes which could be made so that there might be a statement that would allow the European Central Bank to include Greece in its quantitative easing program.

[02] Kotzias discusses Cyprus talks with UN's Eide; Qatar crisis with Iran's Zarif

Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias spoke on the phone with the UN Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide on Tuesday to discuss the conditions and the preparation for the second Geneva Summit, as well as a new meeting, the foreign ministry said in a press release.

Kotzias also spoke with Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif on the latest developments in the Middle East, following the diplomatic and economic blockade imposed on Qatar by six of its neighbours, who accuse it of funding extremists in the Gulf region.

The same issue was discussed during a meeting in his office with Qatari representatives.

The foreign minister also met with U.S. Ambassador to Greece Geoffrey Pyatt with whom he discussed Greek-American relations ahead of the ambassador's trip to the United States.

[03] Justice minister: Greece ready to provide information to other states on money laundering

Greece is ready to provide information to other states on cases of possible money laundering, Justice Minister Stavros Kontonis said on Wednesday, speaking at a parliamentary committee debating a draft bill which ratifies the 2005 Warsaw Treaty on the laundering, search and seizure of proceeds from crime and financing of terrorism.

"Greece is available to offer information and data, but other states must also offer information whenever they are requested by the Greek state, particularly regarding money laundering," the minister said.
