  • [01] EU Commission welcomes voting of measures in Greek parliament

BRUSSELS (ANA/ M. Aroni) - The European Commission welcomed on Friday the voting of the measures in the Greek parliament, adding that now a credible strategy that will guarantee the sustainability of the Greek debt will be sought.

Asked to comment on the voting of the measures, the spokeswoman of the European Commissioner for Financial Affairs Annika Breidthardt said: "The preliminary agreement reached between the four institutions and the Greek authorities early this month has paved the way for the rapid conclusion of the Greek stability program. The policy package will now be complemented by further discussions on a credible strategy that will ensure the sustainability of the Greek debt. We welcome yesterday's vote in the Greek Parliament on the measures that need to be implemented, as agreed in the policy package. The approved legislation is carefully evaluated by our competent services."

[02] Seamen's Federation decides to end their strike on Friday midnight

The Hellenic Seamen's Federation (PNO) decided on Friday to not continue their strike that ends on Friday midnight.

All routes will be carried out normally after midnight and passengers due to travel should contact the travel agents or the port authorities for possible changes in the time of departure.

PNO in its announcement thanked all the seamen and crews for their participation in the mobilisations and called on the government to give answers to the issues tabled adding that if there are no substantial solutions soon, they will escalate their struggle.
