  • [01] PM Tsipras inaugurates exhibition at Beloyannis Museum

Beloyannis, Greek resistance leader and leading cadre of the Greek communist party, and hundreds others that were executed in the post-civil war state were not executed because they set the state and the country in danger, but they were executed in order to destroy any prospect of political and national understanding that will consolidate democracy in our country after the harsh and brutal years of civil war, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Monday.

Tsipras inaugurated the opening of the permanent exhibition at "Nikos Beloyannis" museum.

"Beloyannis is a hero who remained faithful to the principles and ideas until the last moment," the prime minister said and added: "We inaugurated the museum handing over our legacy to the history of the country. We defend the democratic values, and a legacy that is recognized by almost the entire democratic world. In democracy, there are conflicts and confrontations, which we face honoring our history, but above looking forward, and no turning back."

[02] EU Commission stresses the aim to reach staff level agreement by April 7

BRUSSELS (ANA/M. Aroni) -The aim is to reach a staff level agreement by the Eurogroup on April 7, European Commission spokesman Margaritis Schinas on Monday said.

The spokesman said that the negotiations between Greece and the institutions continue with the view to concluding the second programme review as soon as possible.

Schinas reiterated the statement of the European Commission president Jean Claude Juncker that "all sides need to work hard so that a staff level agreement is reached as soon as possible."

Concluding, Schinas said that the next meeting will be the Eurogroup on April 7 when ideally "we will be in a position to present a staff level agreement."

[03] Mihalos urges Greek diaspora in the US to invest in Greece

Constantinos Mihalos, president of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry and president of the Union of Hellenic Chambers, urged businessmen of the Greek diaspora living in the United States to support Greece with investments in this crucial period for the country, struggling to complete a review and to exit from the crisis.

Mihalos met with businessmen -of Greek origin- and US administration officials during his visit in New York and Washington to attend March 25th celebrations in the White House.

Mihalos said that Greece is a country with big investment opportunities in significant sectors of economic activity, such as tourism, energy, industry, food, education, health and noted that significant reforms were currently underway aimed to significant facilitate business activity in the country. US officials expressed a positive view for Greece and stressed that both on economic and business level the US always had and will continue having strong interest, Mihalos said. In New York, Mihalos met with businessmen of Greek origin and invited them to Greece to see investment opportunities and to discuss cooperation with Greek enterprises.
