  • [01] Admin. Reconstruction Min. Gerovassili: Positive sign in Eurogroup for overall agreement

Administrative Reconstruction Minister Olga Gerovassili estimated that "a positive signal will be given on Monday's Eurogroup in order with the necessary convergence on the mid-term measures for the debt and the primary surpluses to reach an overall agreement" in an interview with Athens Macedonian News Agency on Sunday.

"The negotiations continue, despite the difficulties, and progress is recorded in most issues. The only difference is on issues referring to IMF's obsessions and mostly on matters related with the safeguarding of the European acquis" she said.

[02] Zervakis and Rebouli the winners of the Athens Half Marathon

The 6th Athens Half Marathon, the city's annual major spring sports event, was held on Sunday 19 March. 21,000 runners took part in the four races which was organised by the Municipality of Athens, Attica region and the Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS).

Yiannis Zervakis (1.09.03) was the winner of the Half Marathon followed by Costas Gelaouzos (1.09.04) and Rania Rebouli (1.19.44) won the women's race.

The start of the Half Marathon and the 5km race was at Syntagma square at 09:00. A 3.0 km race and a 1.0 km race for children and people with disabilities were also included in the programme.

The finishing line for athletes in all three races was on Amalias Avenue, in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Greek Parliament.

[03] Alt.FM Katrougalos optimistic that the review will conclude next month

IMF is responsible that the labour relations issue remains open in the negotiations between the government and the institutions, said Alternate Foreign Minister George Katrougalos in an interview with Kontranews Sunday newspaper.

"The IMF is the sole responsible because it insists on extreme neoliberal and anti-European positions" underlined Katrougalos estimating that this matter will close within the next month in order Greece to be included in the quantitative easing programme.

On the Turkish provocation, he said that Greece always seeks to have good neighbourly relations within the International Law and clarified that Greece will not retreat in national issues.

Finally, Katrougalos called on EU to show in practice its solidarity to Greece at all levels.
