  • [01] Greece unequivocally condemns terror attack in Nice

The Greek Foreign Ministry unequivocally condemned the terror attack in Nice. "Our heart and our thoughts are with the citizens of Nice. In these difficult times we are all French" posted the Greek Foreign Minister on twitter.

We express our unequivocal condemnation and abhorrence of the new, deadly terrorist attack in France. Our thoughts are with the French people and the families of all the innocent victims, to whom we express our sincere condolences, said a Greek Foreign Ministry announcement issued on Friday

"On the anniversary of the French Revolution, the cradle of the ideas of liberty, equality and fraternity found itself once again the target of obscurantism and barbarity. The act of barbaric terrorism is doomed to fail. We express our certainty that, in spite of extremists, France – the beacon of the ideas of the Enlightenment, democracy and freedom – will continue to unceasingly shed its light on Europe and the world".

[02] No Greeks among the victims of the terrorist attack in Nice, according to latest information

There are about 2,500 Greeks in Nice, Monaco and the Cote d'Azur, including students. Most of them, however, have returned to Greece for holidays.
