Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Tuesday received United Arab Emirates Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Maximos Mansion. In brief statements on camera, the prime minister said Greece's goal was to further deepen and develop the traditionally good relations between Greece and UAE.

Tsipras referred to the crucial role that UAE plays as a factor for stability in the Middle East and the Gulf, as he welcomed Sheikh Abdullah to Greece. "We appreciate your efforts," he said, adding that the Greek government looks forward to deepening these good relations further.

Sheikh Abdullah referred to the "huge effort" that Greece was making and expressed great satisfaction that the country was "moving in the right direction." He expressed hope that through joint cooperation the two countries will find ways to further deepen and develop bilateral relations, coming up with new ideas and ways they might explore investment prospects and intensify bilateral trade.
